Registration Eligibility

Undergraduate Students

Beginning Spring 2023, an undergraduate student is required to maintain continuous registration at the university (excluding summer terms) or submit a Leave of Absence request if they are unable to register for classes. Failure to register for an upcoming term (excluding summer) or submit a Leave of Absence deems the student ineligible to register for future terms and they must apply for readmission to the University of Utah through the Office of Admissions.

Graduate Students

A graduate student is required to maintain continuous registration at the university. Failure to register for a term (excluding summer) deems the student ineligible to register for future terms until readmitted to the University of Utah through Graduate Admissions.
