Non Credit Classes

Admitted students who would like to register for non-credit, lifelong learning, etc., must have a non-credit career.

Employees: To add a non-credit career, log in using your uNID and password through the Campus Information Services, and click on the “Add a Non-Credit Career” on your employee page. After the non-credit career has been added, navigate to the "Student Homepage", click on the "Registration" tile, and select the non-credit semester for the term you want to add classes.

Students: To add a non-credit career, log in using your uNID and password through the Campus Information Services, navigate to your "Student Homepage", click on the "Academic Records" tile and select “Add a Non-Credit Career”. After the non-credit career has been added, click on the "Registration" tile on your "Student Homepage", click on “Add Classes”, and select the non-credit semester for the term you want to add classes.

If you are not an admitted student, contact the Continuing Education Office directly at (801) 581-6461 for help registering.

  • Non credit students are subject to the same add, drop, and withdrawal deadlines as admitted (degree seeking) students. Check the Academic Calendar for specific dates for term, first, and second session classes.
  • Although non-credit classes appear on the official University transcript, no credit or a grade is given. These classes do not affect a student's GPA.
  • Non-credit classes do not follow the University of Utah tuition schedule. See individual class listings for non-credit class tuition and fees.
