Declaration/Change of Graduate Emphasis

Policy 6-225 Section III

An emphasis is a program of study within an established degree that enables a student to focus on courses in a particular field within a degree program. An emphasis is approved by the curriculum committee of the college where the degree is housed and by the Graduate Council.  An emphasis will appear on a student's transcript but not on the diploma.

Instructions

  1. Choose and complete the appropriate option. Please use the Academic Plan and Emphasis Codes.
  2. The Department Chair or Director of Graduate Studies must sign the form and return it to the Registration and Records Division via campus mail or fax.
